OUR PROGRAM

Learning to stand and communicate your message to an audience is a fundamental skill. We work with students to develop their confidence and public speaking skills to be able to deliver clear presentations in a number of styles. Storytelling, persuasive speeches and light hearted speeches are part of our curriculum. .

Our Classes

Public Speaking Junior

PSJ introduces principles of public speaking to younger students, including effective delivery, being persuasive, and writing speeches. This class serves as a good foundation to debating, but also to class presentations and competitive speech competitions. The goal is to build confidence in speaking in front of groups of people, both with prepared and impromptu material. Basic research skills will also be practiced. Students should expect this class to be interactive and participation based.

Public Speaking Senior

PSS is intended for older students, and introduces principles of public speaking including effective delivery, being persuasive, and writing speeches. This class serves as a good foundation to debating, but also to class presentations and competitive speech competitions. The goal is to build confidence in speaking in front of groups of people with both prepared and impromptu material; however, there will be a greater focus on the latter relative to the PSJ class and more advanced topics. Research skills will also be practiced. Students should expect this class to be interactive and participation-based.
