Our Program

The essay is the most critical component of your college application, and your one opportunity to present your best self to the admissions office. It is not uncommon to see an extremely qualified student turned down due to a mediocre essay, or a mediocre student gaining admission based on a breathtaking essay. In this 8-week program, you will be guided through the process of writing your best college essay, from brainstorming through final revisions. Our instructor attribute his Yale acceptance to his essays, and that experience combined with a deep understanding of top college admissions is an invaluable resource. With a flexible start date between 7/1 and 8/31, the structure and advice from your tutor will ensure that you finish your essay with plenty of time to spare before the deadline. You'll meet face-to-face or online with your tutor for at least three hours. You'll also receive 3 rounds of focused critiques from your tutor, as well as weekly written feedback so that you know you are on the right track. This feedback goes well beyond just proofreading and grammar - you'll better understand how your essay fits into the application process and you'll develop clarity, conciseness, and sophistication in your writing choices. The result? A highly polished Common App essay that helps you to tell your story.
